How does Accentra Credit Union protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does Accentra Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or deposit money
  • pay your bills or apply for a loan
  • use your credit or debit card

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes-information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more on your rights under state law.

Definitions
Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Accentra Credit Union has no affiliates.
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Accentra Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners include TruStage.
Other important information

For Vermont Borrowers: We may share with our joint marketing providers loan information and information provided on product applications. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to only employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with state and federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

For California Borrowers: If you are a California resident, state law gives you additional rights to limit information sharing, even if this type of sharing is otherwise permitted by federal laws. Accentra Credit Union allows you to limit our sharing of your nonpublic personal information under a joint marketing agreement with joint marketing partners. If you are a resident of California, we have enclosed a form entitled, “Important Privacy Choices for Consumers” which outlines and provides details on how you can limit our sharing under California state law.
